World Financial Group Insurance Agency of Canada Inc. (WFGIA) requires the completion of the Canadian Ethics Course for Life Insurance Agents by all WFGIA-licensed agents and candidates across Canada every two years.

The course must be completed before submitting the Licence Application

Note: This Ethics course is for WFG compliance only. It does not qualify for the Council Rules Course in British Columbia nor does it qualify for Saskatchewan.

Students must verify their identity with a photo ID and download and install Safe Exam Browser (available through the test portal). They must also connect a secondary camera on a smartphone (activated by a QR code).

You have 3 attempts at the exam. Thereafter, each additional attempt is subject to a $20 rewrite fee.

Taxation (although written as a separate module, it is not examinable as one but examinable throughout other modules)

A minimum grade of 60% is required to pass each certification exam.

You have three (3) attempts per module. You may purchase one (1) additional attempt per module for $20.

Regulatory Limit on Exam Attempts:
Failure on a fourth (4th) attempt on any individual module will result in the expiry of this course as per provincial regulatory requirements. Once a course has expired, you will no longer have access to the course content or your course history.
In order to complete the LLQP, you will be required to re-enrol in the LLQP certification course and start anew.

Upon successfully passing all of the required certification exams, your results will be entered in the Canadian Insurance Participant Registry (CIPR), at which time you may apply with your provincial regulator to write the provincial exams.

Enrollment Period: 1 year or the fourth unsuccessful attempt, whichever comes first.

Certification Exam: 1 per module (Taxation: not examined as a separate module but examinable throughout other modules)

Question format: multiple choice

Questions per exam: 30 questions for all exams (excluding Ethics & Professional Practice); 20 questions for Ethics & Professional Practice

Exam Length: 75 minutes per exam

Passing Grade: 60%

WFG requires all licensed (whether mutual funds, RESP Scholarship Plans or insurance) to complete an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) course every two years. Failure to complete the course (and successfully pass the quiz) within 30 days of your annual license renewal (or annual anniversary of your renewal date) may result in the withholding of commissions.

Note: It does not come with CE Credits upon completion.

Money-laundering is a process whereby criminal and/or terrorist groups process money received from illegal or terrorist activities through the financial system in an effort to hide or mask the original source of the monies. Money-laundering has significant costs for the economy, the financial companies that provide legitimate products and services and for the financial professional that work in the industry.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the money laundering process and details the methods used by money launderers, the effects of money laundering, who is vulnerable, and the measures that can and must be taken to help prevent the occurrence of money laundering.

The guidelines covering suspicious transactions, transaction reports, and compliance are conveniently summarized within the course.

Both interesting and informative, this course presents a good introduction for those new to the financial industry and an excellent refresher for those that are experienced in the industry and require a refresher on AML.
